I usually go to Kuil Muniswarar for the excellent banana leaf stall inside the temple precinct. Yesterday evening, I went there for another purpose.

Guna led YB Chong Eng together with other DAP leaders to perform a special prayer for the HINDRAF 5 and for Makkal Sakti - the People's Power.

When Chong Eng saw me standing behind her while performing the prayers, she was shocked and asked me, "you can come in here?".

I told her, "If I welcome others to come into my Church, I am sure I'm welcome into their temples." And I sincerely believe that.

Before the prayer began, I caught Chong Eng spending time speaking to one of the worshippers (a chinese lady) who is recovering from clinical depression. Chong Eng was amazingly attentive to the lady and provided words of encouragement to her. I imagined our politicians only have time for "BIG" stuff like economics, education, social policies. Chong Eng showed herself to be a trully People's Representative.

After the prayer, Sdr. Sivanesan (DAP central committee member), YB Kula Segaran (Ipoh Barat MP) and YB Chong Eng each gave a short speech to a crowd of about 100 who totally crowded the temple area.

I was really impressed by the organizers, esp. a young man probably my age, S. He was pressured both by certain parties within the temple and especially the police (who were already there at 5 pm! we started our prayer at about 7pm. wow...nothing better to do kut) to call the gathering elsewhere.

But Guna stood up and gave a stern speech, roaring like a lion, that the people are refused even the usage of their temple prompting the police to finally conceded us to go ahead. Terima Kasih Polis!

S was by then bolder and went ahead to organized the crowd again and getting a loudspeaker for the three leaders defying the earlier instructions not to do so.

The event went well, everyone was peaceful though it was obvious that they were frustrated at what is happening to the Country right now.

Sivanesan said confidently that (I was totally blank as he spoke in tamil, but I sorta caught some terms here and there) we can prevail in this struggle, with the Divine Power and the People's Power!

Chong Eng expressed her solidarity with the Indian community and also encouraged unity in action between the Indians, Chinese and Malays of this Country. We are all victims of the divide-and-rule policy of the rulling parties and their cronyism and nepotism. Everyone should be able to enjoy the same opportunity as Malaysians.

Kula among others chided MIC for cheating the Indian community again and again with fake statistics and comments which do not at all represent the state of reality.

The night ended with the announcement of the collection for the HINDRAF 5 family fund. Some of the 5 were from PKR, but it doesn't matter, we are all Malaysians crying out for equitable treatments. The fund collected was an astonishing RM3k (meaning an average of RM30 donation per persons), given the fact that the Indian community is definitely not the riches people around despite the government's so called statistics.

Kudos Makkal Sakti.

View Article  We Are Humans
We lived tru this dark terrifying Advent nights
Feasting on fear rained from the stormy clouds above;
'twas night for sure, but no stars in-sight,
cold from the rain, but no warmth from the stove.

We clutched a piece of freedom,
this little bread no one can steal;
No emperors nor princes nor rust nor worms,
Can take away our human will
to choose, in spite of the starless nights
and the cold cold rain;
The will to choose to do what is right,
and to choose what is right despite our pains.

We are humans and not slightly less,
Even for the deformity of our decaying bodies
Even for the hungry skin, our ailing vests
We're richly human e'en in all our poverties

We are humans and rightly so
Because many Advents ago, when nights were as dark as ours,
A Child was bornt to all human woes
and showed us the worth of human souls.

May Advent brings tsunami to the core of our beings and tremor to the foundation of our nationhood reminding us that peace and stability without the firm and obvious affirmation of justice and righteousness is a big fat scam.

To all my friends and readers, have a blessed Christmas. God bless you
